Description: This presentation has three parts. The first part explains the architectural differences between IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) and Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus. The second part guides you through the infrastructure (eight virtual machines) of a typical event management environment, while showing the migration steps for every component in this environment and learning in detail about ACT AG's migration experience. The third part will demonstrate some of the migration steps (depending on the requests of the audience) in a live demonstration.

Speaker Bio: Wolfgang Schumacher is a Tivoli Certified Consultant and Tivoli Certified Instructor at ACT AG in Niederkassel, Germany. He is also Germany's representative to the Global Tivoli User Group. He has 26 years of experience in the Systems Management field. His experience includes the project management, architecture, implementation, and performance measurement of Systems Management and networking solutions for distributed and mainframe environments using IBM, Tivoli, and OEM products. His areas of expertise include IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console rule writing and developing automation for IBM Netcool OMNIbus solutions.
