Maximize the value of your investment in Tivoli products using Integrated IT Asset & Service Management.
Thursday, Feb 28, 2008
Description: Abstract: Learn how you can get the most from your investment in Tivoli products by building an integrated solution based on Tivoli Service Request Manager and Tivoli Asset Management for IT.
• ITIL based best practices for Service Desk and IT Asset Management
• Tivoli Asset Management for IT (TAMIT) integrates with TADDM/CCMDB to manage the lifecycle of IT assets along with managing change and configuration of the IT infrastructure.
• Tivoli Service Request Manager (TSRM) is the heart of an integrated IT asset and service management solution. When integrated with TAMIT, TSRM helps to efficiently manage incidents and problems due to IT infrastructure or application issues. When integrated with Rational ClearCase & ClearQuest, which are used for managing IT application change and configuration, TSRM helps to manage issues that require change and release management before deployment. Integrating TSRM with Tivoli Netcool will help manage network monitoring issues.

The Future of Asset Management - Consolidation and Convergence
Thursday, Dec 6, 2007
Description: IBM sees a future where two market drivers, consolidation and convergence, are influencing the management of critical IT and operating assets. The first trend is centered on the needs of IT organizations to become more efficient while improving the quality of services they deliver. A key avenue in this pursuit is system and vendor consolidation. In the world of asset management most companies today rely on many solutions from multiple vendors, each used to address the needs of separate departments and functions and each used for different types of assets. The second trend is one of asset convergence, where operating or industrial assets are increasingly dependent on IT infrastructure. In this scenario, operating assets are connected to or actually embed IT components in a way that significantly increases the complexity of asset management. This session describes the views of IBM relating to these two trends.
Speaker: Rich Caplow, IBM
Speaker Bio: Rich Caplow is responsible for strategy and market management in the area of asset management solutions. His focus is on bringing customers innovative solutions for managing their critical assets, relating to IT and operating assets across all asset-intensive industries. He was with MRO Software in the EAM and ITAM markets for over 5 years prior to the acquisition by IBM. He previously served in strategic marketing roles at companies including Art Technology Group, Banyan Systems and Digital Equipment Corp. Rich holds undergraduate engineering and MBA degrees from Cornell University.

Better Ways to Store and Manage Your Data with Tivoli and AMD
Wednesday, Nov 14, 2007
Description: Leading companies across the globe have taken advantage of technologies and solutions from IBM and AMD. These two market leaders are proud to announce the availability of a new offering - Tivoli Storage Manager on an AMD based platform. Join our joint webcast on November 14th and learn how
- Only TSM uses progressive-incremental backup to save network, server and storage resources and also ensure fast restores.
- Only TSM offers policy-based management down to individual file level – ensuring optimum use of storage resources and the fastest restores.
- Only TSM can automatically migrate data from one storage pool to another pool
- AMD64 is the only architecture that overachieves in delivering the scalability, longevity and performance per-watt required by datacenter clients, servers and storage systems.
- AMD has the highest Performance Per Watt x86 processors – Results in average annual energy savings up to $533 PER SERVER. The larger your data center – the more you save on energy costs with AMD servers
- AMD64 technology drives faster throughput that provides dedicated, high-speed paths to the I/O controllers. CPUs pass data to and from the storage subsystems faster than traditional front-side bus architectures that share I/O traffic with memory traffic, and CPU-to-CPU communications.
- AMD’s new True Quad Core Barcelona processor provides tremendous CPU scalability, leadership virtualization performance, and dual dynamic AMD PowerNow! technology - dynamically and individually adjusts core frequencies for improved power efficiency

Increasing Agility Across the IT Service Lifecycle
Thursday, Sep 20, 2007
Description: The Global Rational Software User Group Community and the Global Tivoli Software User Group Community have joined in collaboration to bring you this valuable webcast
A service-centric approach requires coordination across the full IT service lifecycle. Organizations need to integrate around the IT service lifecycle to help drive efficiency, agility, and growth for customers. Until recently, you rarely saw development connected with operations . nor did you see either side connected with the "business side of IT" - IT staffing, planning, governance. A service centric approach, exemplified by the recent version 3 release of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), is one that connects all 3 of these organizations together and allows you to manage services from initial thought conception to development, to deployment into operations and eventually into the retirement of that service. This webcast will cover the products from Rational and Tivoli that demonstrate this agility across the IT service lifecycle.
Speaker: Geoffrey Bessin, IBM Rational
Speaker Bio: Geoffrey Bessin, a member of the IBM Rational Strategy and Planning team, has held field enablement, product management, and go-to-market positions within Rational for 10 years. He is currently focused on the evolution of IBM Rational's strategy from software and service development to software and service delivery and governance - a more holistic strategy that incorporates business, development, and IT operational concerns.
Speaker: Bernie Coyne, IBM Rational
Speaker Bio: Bernie Coyne has worked in the software development field for 25+ years. He has held a variety of roles including chief technology officer, product development manager, systems analyst and programmer. He has worked for IT consulting firms, software product companies and has experience in both the private and public sectors. He has a wealth of
hands-on experience in practical IT service lifecycle situations. Currently he works in Rational Marketing on the Governance & Risk Management Program.
Speaker: Perry Swenson, IBM Tivoli
Speaker Bio: Perry Swenson is the worldwide Program Manager for the IBM Service Management Program. With over 28 years of information technology solution experience, Perry has a strong depth of software, services and product experience. Since joining Tivoli in 2000 he has focused on service management solutions and the benefits of integrating development and operations.
