Announcing the "IBM Tivoli Software Products Rock" video contest
You asked for it! Contest deadline has now been extended to October 29th, 2010!
Create a video telling us why your "IBM Tivoli Software Products Rock" and be eligible to win an Apple iPad, iTouch, iPod Nano, $100 gift check, or $50 gift check.
The Global Tivoli User Community (TUC) invites you to submit a video describing how your IBM Tivoli software product has helped your company solve a problem, improve performance or deliver business value.
The contest starts May 18, 2010 and all entries must be received by October 29th, 2010. Contest winners will be announced on November 23rd, 2010.
Contestant videos will be posted on the Tivoli User Community channel playlist on YouTube during the contest for everyone to view. The top 3 videos will be chosen by the Global Tivoli User Community Council (GTUG) and all community members will be invited to vote for their favorite to select the winners.

CONTEST RULES and REGULATIONS
ELIGIBILITY: The Global Tivoli User Community (TUC) "IBM Tivoli Software Products Rock" video contest (the "contest") is open to all TUC members, who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of IBM are not eligible. This contest is being administered by Group Intelligence, Inc. (GI) and will begin on May 18th, 2010 at 12:00 am Eastern USA. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern USA, August 16th, 2010. Contest winners will be announced on Sep 21st, 2010.
HOW TO ENTER: Create one or more of these types of IBM Tivoli related videos:
- Interview Type - Video tape yourself or another Tivoli professional telling your/their customer story about how a Tivoli product and or service offered by IBM Tivoli or The Global Tivoli User Community has helped to solve a business/technical problem. For a helpful guide click here for a list of questions that you could cover for this type of video.
- Technical Presentation Type - You can record yourself narrating a PowerPoint presentation about your customer experience/ real world application of an IBM Tivoli product and upload it to YouTube. For step by step instructions on how to do this please view this 5 minute video tutorial:
- Product Tutorial Type - Show a video demonstration of how to use a particular Tivoli product/solution. Video tutorials can be created simply with screen recorder software. This will only record your screen and your voice. We recommend this program to get you started:

Whichever you choose, you will have the option to record the entire screen or partial screen. With Camstudio, it's as easy as deciding what part of your screen you want to record and then pressing the button. Editing and outputting are just as simple; in fact, if you get stuck, Camstudio provides a video tutorial with step-by-step instructions on how to use their software.
SUBMITTING YOUR VIDEO: To submit your video fill out the online Video Submission form and FTP/upload your file to: ftp://upload.groupintelligence.com/. If you don't have an ftp client, use Internet Explorer. Open an IE window, type in: ftp://upload.groupintelligence.com/ click on the incoming folder, then drag your zip file into the window, be sure to place the file into the incoming/tivolivideo folder.
Videos must be:
- Max. length: 10 minutes
- Max. file size: 1 GB
- Formats accepted are: Windows Media Video (.WMV), .AVI (windows), .MOV (mac), .MP4 (ipod/psp), .MPEG, .FLV (adobe flash)
The videos sent to us in this manner will be uploaded to Tivoli User Community on YouTube (tivoliug). The video title and description information will be included in the description field.
All entries submitted must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern USA, October 29th, 2010. A member may submit multiple entries, each entry must be a unique video. Duplicate entries submitted will be disqualified.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: All entries must meet the following guidelines:
- The entry subject matter must be IBM Tivoli software related. If the Tivoli product is integrated with a non-Tivoli product you must explain the integration.
- The entry and all elements of the entry must be the entrant's original work and previously unpublished.
- The entry must be a minimum of 2.5 minutes and not exceed ten (10) minutes in total running time.
- The entry must convey a positive experience with IBM Tivoli.
- The entry must not violate the intellectual property rights of any third party. That means that the video should not contain a trademark or logo of another company, nor any copyrighted materials such as music, photographs, or posters.
- The entry must be suitable for publication and publicity purposes as determined by the TUC in its sole discretion. Entries must be in good taste and must not contain obscene or defamatory statements nor portray the TUC or any third party in any way that might tend to subject them to public contempt, scandal, disrepute or ridicule.
- Entrant acknowledges that the TUC may use entry without any compensation to entrant or persons appearing in the video, in any and all media, throughout the world, in perpetuity, including derivative works.
- The entry may not contain the following: Nudity, profanity, any situations which expose any persons appearing in the entries to physical injury.
- The TUC reserves the right to make determinations of suitability in its sole and absolute discretion, and to disqualify any entries it determines to be inappropriate for any of the reasons listed above, or for any other reason.
POSTING OF ENTRIES: All eligible video contest entries (as determined by the GI, in it's sole discretion) shall be posted on the "Video Contest" playlists on the Tivoli User Community channel on YouTube beginning May 18th, 2010 and continuing through August 16th, 2010 at 11:59 pm Eastern USA.
JUDGING CRITERIA: After a video has been deemed as "eligible" these entries will be judged by a panel consisting of GI and the Global Tivoli User Community Council (GTUG) Members (the "Judges"). The judges will vote to select the top 5 entries on the basis of originality, creativity, entertainment appeal, recording quality, and the quality of the message.
The top 3 entries will be published on the TUC website on November 3, 2010. All TUC members will have an opportunity to view these 3 top entries and vote on their favorite. A tally of these votes will determine the grand prize winner of the Apple iPad, the second prize winner of an Apple iTouch, and the third prize winner of an Apple iPod Nano. The Fourth and Fifth place winners will be notified after the grand prize winner has been determined.
The decision of the TUC members is final and may not be appealed. Entries must not have won a previous prize or award nor been previously published and must be entrant's original work.
WINNER SELECTION/PRIZE AWARDING/WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: On November 15, 2010, the Grand Prize winner along with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th prize winners will be notified via the email address and/or telephone number provided on your TUC membership profile. Winners must reply to the winner notification email/or telephone call and provide a mailing address for the prize within seven (7) days of notification (November 22, 2010) or the prize will be forfeited. If any prize/prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or in the event of non-compliance with any other requirements, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety and may be awarded to an alternate. Winners agree that receiving a prize grants GI the right to use the winning video entries in print, publish, broadcast, and use worldwide in any media now known or later developed at any time or times, for any purpose, including but not limited to, in advertisements, publicity, and other communications without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
Winners will be announced on the homepage of the TUC website and the TUC Video Gallery page on November 23rd, 2010. GI will also highlight the winner in the October edition of the TUC Newsletter. If a winner wishes to remain anonymous you must indicate this on the video submission form.
PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize: an Apple iPad, One(1) Second Place Prize: an Apple iTouch, a One (1) Third Place Prize an Apple iPod, One (1) Fourth Place Prize a $100 gift check, and One (1) Fifth Place Prize a $50 gift check. Limit one prize per member.
RIGHTS IN SUBMISSIONS: Each entrant grants GI the right, but not the obligation, to use the story, characters, and any other information presented in the entry, including the name and likeness of entrant and any persons appearing in the entry, in a commercial or other advertising and publicity for the TUC.
In connection with your video entry, you affirm, represent, and/or warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize GI to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary right in all video entries to enable inclusion and use of the entry in the manner contemplated by this Contest and these Official Rules. You further agree that you will not submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret, or is otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to submit the material and enter the Contest and to grant Sponsor of all the license rights granted herein.
GENERAL RULES: Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws apply. All applicable taxes resulting from acceptance of prize are the responsibility of winner. By entering contest, entrant accepts and agrees to these Official Rules and the decisions of Judges, which shall be final in all matters. By participating in this contest and/or accepting prizes, entrants agree to hold GI and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees and assigns harmless against any and all claims and liability in connection with the contest, the videos, or the use or redemption of prizes, including, without limitation, bodily injury or death or the violation of the rights of any third parties. Submission of contest entry constitutes a representation and warranty that entrant has received permission for Sponsor to use the audio and likeness of all persons appearing in the video without additional compensation to such persons. GI and its affiliated companies will not be responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or prize notices or for any typographical, or other error in the administration of the contest, or announcement of the prize. In the event of any such error, GI reserves the right to request that the Judges modify this contest in a manner deemed reasonable by the Judges, at the Judges' sole discretion. GI is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, stolen, garbled or misdirected entries, all of which are void. Electronic entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. The authorized account holder is deemed as the person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. By entering the Contest, entrant recognizes and agrees that the registration information provided by entrant will be made available to GI; use of such information will be governed by the TUC's privacy policy found at http://www.tivoli-ug.org/privacy. GI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and terminate, suspend, cancel or modify the Contest and award the prizes from among all eligible entries received as of the date of termination if for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, fraud, unauthorized intervention, technical failures or other causes beyond the control of GI.
