Global Tivoli User Community
The Global Tivoli Software User Group
Community (TUG) website will be changing its
name to The Global Tivoli User Community
(TUC). We are dropping the word "Group" from
the name in an effort to better represent the
evolution of the community which through the
adoption of virtual and collaborative
capabilities engages all members at a
worldwide level including those who are not a
member of a local user group. In addition,
the ever changing demographics of our
community continue to expand and now include
the participation of business partners,
independent resellers, consultants etc. We
believe that the new name suggests a more
consolidated, unified and inclusive online
community base.

IBM Tivoli Training at User Group Meetings
Continues in 2008
The Twin Cities Tivoli User Group had free
training direct from Tivoli Education at
their last meeting and YOU CAN TOO.
Quote from Brian Laney - COTUG Leader ..
"Thanks to each of you for making the Sept
25th TSM User Group meeting a success. We
had our best attendance to date with 30 folks
from a variety of companies.. Overall the
feedback forms were "Very Positive". The user
group presidents (Celeste and Robin) were
very please with the content, delivery,
facilities, etc".
In the April and October 2006 surveys of the
Tivoli User Group community, we asked you..
"What is the best way for IBM to reward you
for being a good IBM customer?" Almost 50%
of those who responded selected "Free
Education Classes" as the best reward.
So, in 2007, Tivoli Training is offering
free, in-depth technical training delivered
by technical product experts via emeeting at
regularly scheduled Tivoli User Group
meetings. And you and your User Group Leader
select the product and topics to be taught at

| In Our Own Words - GTUG council |
| |
This month we have three topics that we'd
like for you to be aware of; 1) the
Encentuate Acquisition; 2) the upcoming
Annual GTUG council face to face meeting with
IBM. And 3) Tivoli User Community activities
at PULSE We look forward to seeing you there!
Encentuate Acquisition
Recently, IBM acquired Encentuate, Inc., a
privately held company based in Redwood, CA
with development labs in Singapore.
Encentuate provides enterprise single sign-on
product sets that help enterprises safeguard
access to key applications in accordance with
regulatory compliance requirements, securely
streamline the sign-on process, provide an
audit/tracking mechanism to monitor and
document access, and improve end-user
productivity and lower support expenses by
reducing the number of passwords required in
desktop environment.
Encentuate overlaps with IBM Tivoli Access
Manager for Single Sign-on. However, since
Encentuate has a better technology, IBM will
use that technology as the platform for
single sign-on within Access Manager product
going forward.
Annual GTUG face-to-face meeting with IBM
GTUG council members will have their annual
face-to-face meeting with IBM during the week
of May 12, 2008, that precedes Pulse
conference in Orlando. As you may recall,
the focus of the last year's meeting was on
process automation based on ITIL process
definitions. This year the focus will be to
bring all of the Tivoli products together and
provide more of an out-of-the-box solutions
developed by IBM to perform event
correlations within a product (like Websphere
Application Server) and among products (like
IHS, WAS, Messaging, etc ...) to help isolate
problems and help customers to arrive at root
cause of the problems. This will
significantly reduce MTTR and increase
availability. A more detail report will be
provided in the next issue of TUG newsletter.
Tivoli User Community Activities at PULSE

PULSE is a great time for many of us to meet
in one place from all around the world to
network and get education. We will be having
