FAQ's about our Speakers Bureau
Q: Are TUC speakers compensated?
A: Participation in the TUC Speakers
Bureau is voluntary and considered a free
community service activity. Members of the
TUC Speakers Bureau do not receive
honorariums or compensation. In addition,
travel or lodging expenses are the
responsibility of the speaker unless an
independent agreement is made between the
user group and the speaker.
Q: Will I need to travel far for speaking
engagements?
A: You select your own speaking coverage
area. The distance you are willing to travel
is left totally up to you. You can decide
which speaking opportunities to accept or
decline based on your availability and
willingness to travel.
Many of the user groups are willing to have
speakers present virtually via web and phone
conference. If you are willing to present
virtually please indicate that you are
"willing to present via web conference" in
the location section of the form.
Q: Who will contact me about speaking
engagements?
A: As a member of the TUC's speaker's
bureau your contact information will be
posted on the website and made available to
all of our global user group leaders.
Leaders can search this database of speakers
and contact you directly.
Q: What kinds of presentations are requested
and how long should they be?
A: The presentations are generally
technical in nature. If you have a Sales or
Marketing pitch please DO NOT submit the form
as this is not the forum for such
activity.
Presentation time lengths can vary and
should be confirmed with the user group
leader making the request for the
speaker.
Q: When are most user group meetings held?
A: Most user group meetings are held
during or after business hours Mondays thru
Fridays.
