A little bit about yourself: I am from Brazil. I have a degree in Electronic Engineering and I have extensive experience in the systems analysis area , and Performance Management and Capacity Planning of mainframes. I have being working with performance monitors since 1984. Nowadays, I work with Tivoli OMEGAMON products at IBM since 2006.

Your Interests: Promote and share information and knowledge with other users about experience of using Tivoli products and services (mainframe environment).

A little bit about yourself: I have a Computer Engineer degree, and started my career on AIX support in 1997 (before that, I had a BBS at my home and own a small echomail network...). In 2000, I started working with Tivoli Storage Manager for an outsourcing company, and in mid-2001, joined IBM to work as a pre-sales specialist for TSM.

TUC is an excellent way to exchange experience and network with other Tivoli users. Being part of TUC brings advantages for the users company and for the user himself.

What advice do you have for getting the most value out of your TUC membership? The user should actively participate of TUC, posting in forums, going to the meetings, presenting in conferences, and participating in every opportunity.

A little bit about yourself: I am from Ontario, Canada and I have a degree in Computer Science. For the later part of my career, I have been working in the software industry, focusing on Asset Management for 22 years. I have been an employee of The Createch Group for 10 years, and we are a AAA business partner. IBM needed assistance with the development of the Service Provider product, and I acted as the Project Manager for the development and QA of the first release of Service Provider.

Your Interests:
    Personal interests: I spend time every year doing some form of mission work - building houses, working with the people in Africa, and helping out at local shelters.
    Career interests: To continue assisting with the development and direction of Tivoli's Service Provider solution.
Advice to TUG Leaders:  

What part of the TUG community has been the most beneficial to you? We held our first meeting in conjunction with Pulse 2011 in Las Vegas. We had informative sessions given by Bo Batty, and a customer session on how they have used the Service Provider Module. These meetings are a great forum for receiving feedback for future product direction.

    What part of the TUG community has been the most beneficial to you? The most beneficial would be hard to pin point. I have benefited in several ways. From learning to manage a user group, which I had never done, to learning from the meeting presenters.

    A little bit about yourself: I've been working in IT for a long, long time. Started out as a mainframe programmer, moved on to mainframe systems administrator and then to working manager for system administration for mainframes and distributed systems, moving into product evaluations and implementations for enterprise systems from there; Tivoli being one of those became my focus. I am now working for a consulting firm called KSNICKEL Consulting, which has a focus on implementing IBM ITIL solutions; along with a few other complimentary products.

    Your Interests: I love to travel to exciting new places and meet new people and experience new cultures. People, food, drink, hiking... traveling off the beaten path... but savoring the experience... especially love Italy and France... but lots of other places to explore... just too little time...

    Advice to TUG Leaders: Work with user group members and IBM account teams to try to gather information on topics of interest to TUG members... It's hard to plan meetings and get good turn-outs... take advantage of some of the sponsors and give-aways for the meetings... advertise meetings alot before hand...talk to members at the meetings... introduce yourself and try to gather information on what people would like to do... take advantage of IBM classes and other offers...

There are many people in the Tivoli community (both inside and outside of IBM) who have a wealth of knowledge. If we all shared our knowledge and experience we could make our jobs easier and improve our work/life balance. Besides, I like to be the center of attention. Everyone who works with Tivoli products should check out TUC, you already have something in common with the rest of us and there are some really helpful people here.

    Advice to TUG Leaders: Make sure the users have a strong voice in the content of the meetings, have a steering committee of users, use survey forms at each meeting and remember attendees get significant benefit from speaking with eachother and sharing experiences so leave time in the agenda for networking
