Group Detail: The Maximo Utility Working Group (MUWG) was formed in March 1998 as an industry group representing 150 investor-owned, municipal and federal utilities, throughout North America. The group’s primary function is the exchange information related to the implementation, application and use of the IBM Maximo Asset Management system.
MUWG has conducted 24 user meeting over the last ten years with over 2800 members in attendance. The MUWG workshops are successful because the meeting is “user-driven” with a Steering Committee made up of utility member representatives providing leadership.
Typical meetings include presentation and breakout session on water, gas and electric transmission and distribution, hydro, fossil and nuclear power generation and water/wastewater collection and treatment.

Meeting topic: Maximo Utility Working Group and Maximo Supply Chain User Group Fall Meeting Agenda: The meeting begins with a Monday evening reception, Tuesday includes a keynote, and several other general session presentations, in the afternoon attendees will attend breakout sessions on various topics, including updates on Maximo offerings. Tuesday evening feature "Vendor Night" where many companies who offer Maximo related services and products will display their offerings. Wednesday will beginning with an update from IBM, plus addition user presentations and breakout session. There will be focused session on water/wastewaste, transmission & distribution, power generation and supply chain. Summary: The MUWG and MCSUG will hold their annual fall meeting in San Francisco. The MUWG meeting is intended for licensed Maximo users from water, gas and electric utilities. The MCSUG is intended for licensed Maximo in any industry with a foucs on the use of Maximo Asset Management for supply chain functions. Vendors by participate through the Vendor Night program - contact Bill Olsen, MUWG, program manager.
