Australian IBM Tivoli User Group - Canberra

Group Detail:
Canberra is an established UG and is open for any Tivoli users in the ACT. Meetings are planned to take place quarterly and are focused around IBM subject matter experts and Customer presentations.

The goal of this group is to provide information sharing among members, representation to GTUG Council and access to IBM Tivoli for product information.

Federal Government and Cloud: The FACTS and the FOG
Come and hear a unique perspective of what is and isn't Cloud, how Governments around the world are reacting, and what is likely to be seen within Australian Federal Government.

Ian Nobbs (CPEng) is the IBM Client IT Architect for Centrelink and more broadly the Department of Human Services. He also has responsibility for AGIMO and representing IBM to Federal Government regarding Cloud & IT. While being engaged as a Client IT Architect for the past 5 years, he previously held roles for the previous 15 years as an Architect in both the IBM Software and IBM Hardware groups.

Topic #2:
Taking your head out of the Cloud: What are the components of Cloud and do they work with my existing infrastructure?
Peek inside a cloud to understand what components are needed to deliver one and how it helps with your Service Management and Virtualisation capabilities. Also how it works with storage, security, network, virtualisation, Mainframe/Unix/Windows and other infrastructure.

Lewis Troke is a Service Management Consultant for IBM. Lewis has extensive experience of architecting and implementing solutions for customers to help them to understand and manage their end to end IT infrastructure, associating IT to the services that Business needs in order to be able to operate effectively. In his more than 30 years in the IT Industry, Lewis has been variously a data centre manager, network consultant, and latterly a service management consultant. His work with customers includes building return on investment cases to ensure that projects are sustainable, and show value, and a return back to the business. He has worked extensively with large financial institutions, Utilities and Retail organisations worldwide, and especially in northern Europe. Most recently Lewis has been working on Business Service Management and Cloud solutions.

I found the Security Management Presentaiton and member comments very good. I was wondering whether the member that commented on only using an analysis tool at the end (using generic log tools to gather the information) is happy to put include a comment in here as to what they currently do in their organisation for all Canberra members to benefit from?

Hi Tina and Leonnie, It's me and I'm back in Tivoli land, though I have only just landed. Hope there are more exciting User Groups coming up in the next few months!!!!
