Abstract - This session will cover an overview of IBM's Storage Virtualization solution, SAN Volume Controller. We'll cover the architecture, functionality and benefits. We'll then take a look at the latest version - SVC 5.1 which introduces Solid State Drives for greatly improved performance!

Reporting with OPAL and Tivoli Common Reporting
Speaker- Jeff Bendorf, IBM Tivoli Systems Engineer
Abstract – To provide a review of Tivoli Common Reporting which is the Tivoli standard infrastructure for creating, viewing, and managing Tivoli product reports. Tivoli Common Reporting can be used to mine the data collected by Tivoli products, and produce reports such as device availability, resource utilization, and outage history. Jeff will also review the enhancements in the newest release of TCR v1.2 available now, as well as the extensive report catalog.

Abstract - Bugs, unauthorized changes, undocumented implementation tasks, lack of visibility into related CI's can all lead to service disruptions and outages which always prompts the question,“Who made the @%&!#)$ Change?” Without a controlled change management process to answer the what, why, who, when, where, and how questions of a proposed change it’s no wonder that up to 85% of problems are caused by IT changing something.
