General Information
Tivoli Certifications are an important way for your customers and business partners to distinguish their skills and earn recognition from IBM for the investment they have made in Tivoli skills. The Tivoli Certification Program has agreed to allow TUC members to take Tivoli Certification exam free of charge at TUG meetings - as a benefit for participating in a local TUG.
Test setup is much easier now than it has ever been in the past. The only tools you will need are PCs or laptops that have a browser and an Internet connection. The testing itself is 100% Web-based but to insure the integrity of the program, all testing is done in the presence of an authorized certification proctor.
IBM employees who manage TUGs are invited to become certification proctors and deliver free Tivoli exams at their TUG meetings. The process is quite simple and can be arranged quickly. To request details, please send an e-mail to Tivoli Certification (tivcert@us.ibm.com). This opportunity is limited to one free testing opportunity per user group, per year.

Frequently Asked Questions about Testing at TUG Meetings
What is an assessment?
Every exam has an assessment test. The Assessment test is a 60-80 question pretest, the same number as on the certification exam, that is fully predictive of the candidate's success on the actual certification exam.
I want to deliver exams to the TUG that I manage, what do I need to do?
Before you announce that your user group meeting will include Free Certification you must first receive approval from IBM. Please send an e-mail to Tivoli Certification (tivcert@us.ibm.com) expressing your interest in delivering a FREE Certification exam at your meeting and the certification team will provide you with the next steps in the approval process.
Are special facilities needed for testing?
No. This can be done in any space appropriate for testing (a quiet, distraction free environment, with a computer per candidate and appropriate amount of space and broadband).
Can the test be administered remotely?
Only the assessment tests can be done remotely. Tivoli certification exams may only be administered in a proctored environment, like all IBM and IT industry "high-stakes" certification exams. Proctoring is the only method available to assure the consistency of any testing program. As a proctor you must be physically present during testing to observe the candidates who are testing to make sure that things run smoothly and no cheating occurs.
Does everybody need to take the same exam?
No. In any testing opportunity, all Tivoli exams are available.
How many exams can I take?
You can take as many different exams at a TUG meeting as time and your TUG leader allow. There is a limit of one free exam per event.
